Thicker, Stronger, Healthier Hair

For years I have listened to my grandmother preach about the wonders of coconut oil and castor oil. First off, let me tell you that coconut oil and castor oil has been used for hundreds of years by people around the world to gain healthier, thicker and stronger hair. Coconut oil is rich in antioxidants, and has antiviral, anti-fungal, and antibacterial properties. When you use coconut oil on your hair, it improves the health of your scalp, promotes hair growth, combats scalp infections and any type of fungus, and if there weren’t enough benefits that I have mentioned so far, let’s add in the fact that it adds body and sheen to your hair without the aftereffects of harmful chemicals found in many of the on-the-shelf conditioners. Castor oil in comparison, is also beneficial for moisturizing the hair and promoting hair growth. Unlike coconut oil, castor oil works to prevent hair loss. The majority of castor oil contains ricinoleic acid which is an omega-9 fatty acid that absorbs into the pores of the skin and the hair follicles. Castor oil not only provides nourishment for the hair, but it enables the hair follicles to restore growth to a normal level. Additionally, castor oil can also protect existing hair follicles from shedding prematurely. The best way to use coconut oil and castor oil for your hair is to think of it as a hair treatment/mask once a week. Hair regrowth results vary from person to person, there is no specified timeline. If you’re interested in all of the benefits listed above, you can follow the below procedure to achieve beautiful, luscious and healthier hair:

Step 1 – Mix 1 tablespoon of organic cold-pressed coconut oil into a bowl
Step 2 – Mix 1 tablespoon of castor oil into the same bowl
Step 3 – Warm mixture until liquefied
Step 4 – Massage mixture to the scalp working it from the root to the length of your hair
Step 5 – Cover your hair with a shower cap to keep the heat and moisture in
Step 6 – Leave mixture in hair for a minimum of 1 hour (leave in overnight for better results)
Step 7 – Shampoo hair (twice) to get oil residue out
Step 8 – Enjoy your silky hair
